As a lifelong resident of Scarborough Southwest, I’ve been committed to making a positive impact on the lives of residents here in our community. My journey in public service began when I was elected as your Toronto District School Board (TDSB) Trustee in 2022. Ever since, I’ve worked with parents, students, and teachers to build stronger and safer schools.
I’ve been encouraged by many of you to run in the upcoming by-election for City Councillor. After thoughtful discussion with residents and community leaders, I’ve made the decision to submit my nomination to be your next City Councillor! I’m committed to being a transformative force in local government, working hard to ensure a brighter future for all residents of Scarborough Southwest.
This by-election will be about our families and our future. It’s about improving our neighbourhoods, our streets and our public transit, because we all deserve better. Scarborough Southwest is ready for real generational change, with fresh new ideas and innovative solutions. Come, join us!

Malika’s Priorities
- Protect our environment by upholding the sanctity of our Scarborough Bluffs.
- Preserve our public parks for our families by banning the use of alcohol.
- Advocate for affordable housing by providing additional funding.
- Alleviate traffic congestion by using AI systems to enhance traffic flow.
- Reduce crime by expanding the Toronto Police Neighbourhood Program.
- Save public transit by adding more TTC bus routes and more TTC enforcement officers at Kennedy, Warden, and Victoria Park subway stations.
